This product has been handcrafted in Benetússer (Spain) at the workshops of the social enterprise Proyectos Extraordinarios for NEXUS. It is made from non-woven fabric (TNT), a textile-like material produced from recycled textile and plastic waste.
Our TNT is created using residues such as clothing scraps, PET bottles, and other post-consumer or industrial plastics, thereby minimizing environmental impact. The resulting material is 100% recycled, recyclable, and certified under the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
How is it made?
On one hand, textile waste is shredded into smaller fibers; on the other, plastics are ground into small pellets. These are then mixed to form a homogeneous mass that, through a process of interlacing, pressure, and heat, melts the plastics so they act as a binder that fuses the textile fibers together.
Through this process, NEXUS embraces a clear social commitment, as the product is made by women facing barriers to employment, and an environmental commitment, since TNT is one of the most sustainable materials available today.
